Here are three Stewart-Warner factory Model 370-A switch plates that I've accumulated over the years, with old switches, that were designed to fit into the standard 2-1/16" gauge hole. I'm not sure if I should use the word "rare," but they are very seldom seen. If you don't want to use the particular switch, removal is easy. Install what you want.
