How about a Blown 392 for your Hotrod or FED project? 0.010" over block appears to be ready for final hone. Std/Std crankshaft cleaned, polished, and coated in Cosmoline. Don't let the picture fool you, this Chrysler Hemi engine is complete with the exception of the water crossover (you can't use it on a Blown Hemi anyway), the water pump, and a couple pieces of factory hardware, etc. I have the front cover, cam, crank, rods, pistons, pan, pump, etc, etc, etc. Also included is a NOS Cragar Blower intake from 1970, and a GMC 671 blower. The blower has Not been converted, but the process has been started; the base has been milled, parts cleaned, and I have all new bearings and seals. The block, heads, and crankshaft have been cleaned. The rest of the parts are boxed and ready to determine their reuse or replacement.

The Bad, the block has a pair of external freeze cracks around the center freeze plug hole on one side (see photo). I have had them looked at, and the verdict was that they are easily fixable. I was quoted $500 for a lock-stitch repair which, in my opinion is superior to welding. This becomes even less of an issue if you intend to fill the block, as I did. I have taken these small cracks into consideration on my price.

I am looking for $3500 for this 392 As-Is, all extra parts included, and I'll even throw in a New FelPro gasket set, and some rebuild parts, such as new cam bearings and connecting rod bearings, valve guides, and freeze plugs. If you would prefer, for $4500 I will have the block professionally repaired for you first. You can barely put all these pieces together without a block for $3500. This is a steal! Willing to take $2750 if somebody wants it without the blower/manifold.

    Just for comparison:

    NOS Cragar Blower Manifold $600-1000
    GMC 671 Core $300-500
    Std/Std 392 crank $1000-1500
    392 Rods $200-300
    392 Heads $400-600
    392 Rockers $200-300
    392 Valve Covers $200-300
    392 Oil Pan $100
    392 Oil Pump $50
    392 Pickup $50
    392 Timing Cover $50
    392 Valley Cover $50
    392 Spark Plug Tubes $50
    392 Block Plate $50
    392 Gasket Set $200

That's $3500-5100 worth of stuff for $3500, plus a block, that's arguably still worth $500-1000 as is.

  2. BTT. Price Dropped to $3500 FIRRRrMM!! Willing to take $2750 if somebody wants it without the blower/manifold. People are buying complete 392's for $5000 left and right and half of them probably have a freeze crack or two. THIS one comes with an excellent blower core, a NOS manifold worth $1000, AND most of the parts are cleaned and ready to go. There's not a better deal on a 392 anywhere.
