Lets see some of your greatest (or worst) builds where you started with just a cowl. Mild or wild what do you got???
got a frame and Glass body found a steel cowl so cut front off of body and used steel one drove 3 months this way redoing stuff now for next year already done wheels and in side
Not finished yet, but I started with the cowl from a 29 touring car. I built the doors/back panel and floor. Looking back I think it would have been easier to start with a more complete body, but its too late now! Working on building a bed for it at the moment.
I started my avatar with the top 8 inches of the cowl and the firewall. I made the bottom 16 inches of the cowl and the rest of the body ( including opening doors ) from flat steel. I've built lots of roadsters but this was my favorite. I had a total of $ 6,200 in it and it was on the cover of StreetRodder mag with my buddy SOTA's car.
Built my avatar out of a rotten cowl with tattered doors from a 28 Sedan. Pics are on other computer.
Yep, now I need 30-31 rdstr quarters. Flapped out panels are fine, I just need something to work with
heres my sons 1927 dodge he has been slowly putting parts together.... every swap meet hes looking for something new ..... p.s hes 12
QUOTE=DirtyDave;8520354]I started my latest with a deck lid, a 2x4, a drivetrain, and a 12 pack!
with pic
Started with a freebie 31 chevy pickup cowl and doors. Xderelilct bought it and added engine/trans/radiator/shell and headlights..he added in a rear body lengthening piece too ..and got it going.
I'm not sure if you're lucky or brilliant...but thats one of the most interesting and best looking body-builds I've ever seen...because you DIDN'T try to make it into a "real" bucket! No belly button there!
Who'd of thought asking that question would result in this??!! I was gonna comment on a couple of the builds - but each addition is as incredible as the next. You guys got talent - and gumption! FANTASTIC START TO A THREAD!!! My start is decidedly more complete....
Thanks Hackerbilt that's high honor. Wanted to get a modified vibe. The piture was at the debut cruz nite, so the seat is wonky and the tires don't match. The velocity stacks look rediculous but we had to have something to keep from suckig in birds and stuff. Little by little working out the bugs and wiping off the non trad stuff, sucks to be poor.
ANDERSON, SIR, I have got to ask: How much time ellapsed from the first to your second picture? That's a beauty!!!! AWESOME!
I started with a model A gas tank and frame. Found some door pillars and then decided to add tudor/coupe doors since they would match the pillars (pickup doors were also a little spendy and did not match the pillars anyway), got some repro cowl sides, repro splash aprons, repro back window panel, a pair of custom corners to match the beltline on the doors, made my own pickup box with a repro tailgate, Granada roof infill panel, swapmeet hood and a set of fibreglass fenders.

That's awesome, keep it up you two! What a great memory that will be for your son, PS Love the headers!
I started with a $140 cowl from a swap meet and with a couple years parts collecting and fab, ended up with this roadster.
View attachment 1834606 with pic
Drive shaft is too straight it will never keep u joints alive, haha. Who needs a frame table, when the frame is part of a table.
Sad to say, I dont feel much about RPU, but Andersons is soooooooooo awsome. Need more Info. The probesport tudor shorter in the rear window? Or just me and the not agreeing?
