So who has the most bad ass mill on the Hamb

    Hands down, the coolest traditional hot rod motor I've ever seen (and heard!).

  3. I was really leaning towards that Hemi-Pontiac....til I saw this 421 overhead cam Pontiac! WOW, is that bad ass:D. Big time "cool" factor there. New screen saver;)

    When I first signed up on the Hamb last year, one of the first questions I asked was if this motor was real.... I thought it was... Boy was I wrong... Sure had me fooled.. Doh!

    The World’s Best Peppermill: Not like I’m biased or anything, but the Magnum peppermill is truly badass. This is the six inch model. For the truly pepper obsessed there is even a Magnum Plus nine-inch model. The Magnum holds a cubic boatload of peppercorns, has an infinitely variable grind screw on the bottom and delivers astonishing amounts of pepper with a single turn of the top. I’ve used mine for years and wouldn’t trade it for anything. Tom David, the creator, must be some sort of peppermill savant. His Unicorn brand peppermills, including the Magnum, have one of the best grind mechanisms I’ve ever seen.

    I was really disappointed to see there were guys with badder engines than my flathead 4 cyl., so I guess I need to pull it and drop in a SBC! ;)

    Here's one I finished a few weeks ago on my dyno & then in the car. PSI screw blower, intercooled, injected on gasoline. Currently ready to hit the salt next week running B/BGL.
    The first B means engine displacment between 373" & 440". The rest means Blown Gas Lakester. Current record is 334.219 MPH! Not a typo!!! This was a new team last year so looking to get the driver licensed to at least AA, 250-300 mph.

    Not mine but I did build it........ :eek:

    I know this won't be anyones cup of tea around here but at least this one is mine.......

    Oh, and it is a small block too, 368" twin turbo. Made over 1400 hp and ran a top speed of 307 mph in a "off topic" '92 firebird at Bonneville back in 1999 :cool:

  21. Well, I'd never sign myself up for this or attempt to claim the title -- too many great motors on the HAMB! Also, too many different styles and traditional periods to consider. This isn't a 50's motor - it is really a mid-to-late 60's setup (same with car).

    This is the baddest thing I've built to date (in terms of horsepower potential), and I haven't started it yet:rolleyes: I've posted about it awhile ago - hopefully not boring those who've "seen it before". After too many years of work, I'm finally ready to fire it this winter (been wrapped up in plastic for 2 years!).

    Specifications:

    Engine: 392 Hemi, stock stroke, narrowed 426 Oliver rods, Venolia pistons
    Mains: Center three are 4-bolt steel - from ProGram
    Heads: Donovan 417 fuel heads (from a AA/FD car)
    Pan: Steffs 10 qt.
    Rockers: Rocker Arm Specialists - 2 year project in itself :cool:
    Cam: Custom Bullet - .550 lift, 250 duration @ .050 (may go bigger :D)
    Induction:
    Current: Setup with dual 750 Holley's from Pro-Systems (will fire with this setup)​
    Future: Hilborn 4-port or Crower 8-port hat - with a EFI conversion (good winter project!)​


    Can't wait to step on the loud pedal with this engine . . . should make my bung-hole pucker a bit :eek: The car will probably not hookup that great -- but should burn the Hurst slicks pretty well.

    There were many very nice mills here but being a Ford guy , I love the Ford Cammer ! Would love to have one .
    But you still have to say there are a couple engines that will always put a big grin on your face like a blown flathead or my favorite , a bad-ass Blown Hemi ! Like I said I am a Ford guy but there is nothing better than a Blown Hemi ! The drag racers proved that one many times over through history !
