I got a bad craving for dragracing and all the feelings involved, smell, noise, vibrations etc, so I ran out to the shop and cured it. Lifted the valve cover of our prostock engine and smell the oil.... Then I opened boxes with cool hidollar racing stuff, coated aluparts, new sparkplugs, bla,bla bla. It cured me for a couple of days... and now I'm curious. Am I a total nut or can I share my thoughts with other gearheads here? I MISS SUMMER AND RACING. Watching dvd's are like smoking low tar cigarettes imho....
I am going to get my mind right by driving my roadster to breakfast tomorrow, despite the fact that the weather is not quite optimal for the open car.
I always like going out and driving my f-100 there's just something about an old car that makes you more connected to the road it not like driving a new car. That's what i crave and going out shooting that's just to blow off steam
Yeah, me too. Off to donuts, 26* F forecast - unless the roads are iced over, then it'll be the 4x4 Ranger. One of our guys has put up his roadster and is driving his panel. Fun to rub it in. Fun to ask my pal why he doesn't drive his 46 Ford sedan in. 16* F is my personal best last winter. Year before that, 18* on the way to donuts and a Harley rider passes me. Not one of the Harleys with enough fairings to give you claustraphobia, but an open one. Sumbitch, I guess a Harley jacket and a do-rag are enough for some of those guys....
best I ever did was 20 degrees at 65 mph on the Harley. I don't know what the windchill was but DAMN!!!! it was cold
Me too. Next summer I'll drive the 72 miles south on I-35 in the modified just to slam down about 4 doubles.
Sam's Club carries those in the frozen foods dept. Not bad, but probably not as good as the ones served hot off the grill back east....
I crave my DeSoto back from my painter......damn it's been 4 months for a metalflake roof and a little rust repair.....and we're in the middle of cruisin' season over here!!!!
CASH,CASH,CASH, I need to be a Lottery winner. My lakes mod.would move forward if could get a set of tires and a few other things. .........Jack
I'm lucky There is one about a mile away. When I go to my Sister-in-law's House, I have to take her a case. She in Interlochen, Mich. George
I crave the cooking smell of burning rubber and nitromethane. When we get to the drags and hear a funny car doing a burnout that smell and sound makes me tell who ever I'm with,I'm getting out here you park the car and I'll meet you up by the starting linesee ya!
