thats gotta be pretty weak, especially considering he ground down the weld on that outside corner joint. You end up with an effective thickness there of only around 1/4"......
Not something i'd like to ride in.....

  11. You should see some of his other stuff, the guy's an ace! That's probably just how it was done way back when.

Here is the chasis I am currently working on, I think some of you have seen pics of it in the past. Bob Hindman (yeah that bob Hindman) built it, so I can not take any of the credit.

hey guys, thanks for the compliments
unfortunately i didnt build the T sprint car
i just took the pictures of it at hershey last year
the metod which he used is actually an old trick though...i think if i were building it i woulda put a little more of a gusset at the top where it kicks out to the "U" bolts...i think thats all bent though and not welded and its about 3/8" thick it appears....
i think possibly it was heated and bent in a vice or something with a sharp edge which caused the sharper inside corner?

plus you figure a T motor set back isnt putting alot of weight on it
my concern for failure would be from the constant twisting from the sides while running a dirt track...causing a stress crack on that inside "kink"
