I was just wondering if anyone has, or can get some measurements from one of the new So Cal rear springs... I know its 2 1/4 wide, But how tall and what does it measure eye to eye? Thanks
its the same thing as a 35 - 40 front spring. you but it on the back so the shackles dont hit your tires when you hit a bump. i think there spring eye to eye on the rearend goes 42 1/2 (check with them befor you weld ) if you use a 35 - 40 front spring 42 eye to eye on the rearend
i have one on a so-cal frame in my shop. mounted, from the bottom of the spring eye to the bottom of the center part of the spring it has an arch of 5.5". this is on there rear end and chassis sitting on tires and wheels. there is not a body on the chassis also. -danny
I (for some reason) hate the term "'40 front spring." It ain't correct. A 1940 Ford front spring is only 2" wide for starters. People keep repeating it and it is almost a urban legend of sorts.
Hi, we'd like to clear something up. When they is mentioned, I think you mean So-Cal. But Posies is mentioned in use by someone else, so I'm not quite sure which one this is a response to. Either way, Eaton Detroit Spring does not sell anything to either So-Cal or Posie's. We do manufacture 40" front springs with Reverse eyes, but any springs from So-Cal or Posie's are not ours.
