Projects Sneek peek at the Pierce Arrow dash panel I did for my '32

I started with a very rough copy of a Pierce Arrow dash panel, and after lots of work on the master, sand casting in aluminum, and much polishing, I now preview for you my new dash panel. I've been wanting a Pierce Arrow dash panel for decades, and figured I'd never afford an original (let alone find one for sale). So I made one.

It is formed to perfectly fit an original '32 Ford closed car dash. No cutting needed except for gauge clearance. The wings in the bottom corners flow perfectly onto the bottom bead of the dash. Check the fit in the side pic.

Still need to cut a stainless machine turned insert, mount up the '50's winged SW's and finish the paintwork on the dashboard that it will bolt to (not gonna use the virgin dash in the pics). I'll post pics when it's all complete.

    Anybody like it?

WOW!!! I dig it, great work man. Can't wait to see it finished up with the insert and gauges mounted. You should make a bunch of those and sell them, could make a mint.

The master is made of fiberglass, duraglas, bondo, a sheet of aluminum, and lots of sandpaper. The next project I do I'll take pics and save them for tech week.

I dig it...it looks really nice. I'm still hunting for an original to cast a pair off of for my '34 Pierces, maybe I should stop being lazy and just make one!

I know of a 32 coupe that could use a dash insert like that! On second thought, I couldn't afford it. Very nice work!!

awesome work, great to see a good thread like this rise back to the top in a see of "what's it worth" and "is my car traditional" threads.
