Technical Smoothing an ugly sidewall

Ok, after exploring the Diamond Back site more, I found it.... They still offer 'smoothie' blackwalls, they'll only do one side, and the year cut-off is 1976 and older, so there shouldn't be a hassle for anyone here.

One other thing... If you DIY, I'm sure you can kiss off whatever tire warranty you had, so keep that in mind. DB offers a warranty, but only on what they sell and only through them.

 

I used a Scotchbrite disk, about 1" thick, in an electric drill. Takes the writing off real quick.
