I agree, there's a lot positive to say about small engines. Somewhere above it was mentioned how you can feel like you're really flogging something and not being out of control or guilty of some jail-time qualifier.

I noticed the 215 Buick/Olds/Pontiac has several mentions throughout this thread. I have one in the T roadster than I built and am just returning to the street. I was smitten by that engine ever since the day (probably in the mid 60's) when there was an article in Hot Rod Magazine about a fellow who put one in a Corvair.....behind the axle as I recall. One photo in the write-up showed him, a rather large fellow, holding a complete 215 in front of him like a bag of dog food. I was fascinated from that point on. My complete T with the gas tank full only weighs about 1350-1400#.

Some of my other "small" interests are Austin-Healey Bug-Eyed Sprites, at the top of my list of cars, and in motorcycles the favorite small CC bike I ever owned was a CB175 twin that I foolishly sold a number of years ago. The CB175 could only be challenged, in my opinion by a S90 I also owned a few years ago and was another love-interest hold-over from my youth.

Future plans are to build another track inspired T roadster (do not think high-riding T bucket!) with a 2.5 Chevy and T-5. This one will have a full hood, turtle deck, and would be really cool if I can find the patience to build a belly pan for it.

    Small engines....love them!
