anyone ever replaced the steering linkage in a 61-66 f100 with heim joint tie rod ends? trying to get rid of some of the slop in the steering. i know ultimately it's the wide ratio in the box, but i was thinking that this might help a bit as well as being a lot stronger. i do plan on replacing the bushings in the front suspension as well as putting in a proper universal joint at the column. but wanted to throw a line out there to see who's done this and results.

    cheers.

I think if you rebuild it with OE quality replacement parts a lot of, if not all, the slop will go away. By rebuild I mean every thing from the steering box to the spindles.
