Okay thanks, don't forget too post those Anglia's in my Anglia thread. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/a-history-of-the-anglia-gasser.1032250/
speed gems, I found a better picture of this car, it's not an I/Gas it's a B/Gas and on the door is Keith Black Racing Enterprises ( my bad )...
Countn'Carbs, Some of the old posts pictures got lost when they changed formats, and it's getting harder to find new ( old pictures )...
Tom Langdon and his son Steve have located the Holehot 6. They have not been to see it yet and I understand that it has been changed over the years. I hope to go with them when that happens.
I would say so Six Gun. Great find and where did you find the second picture...looks like maybe a few years earlier?? Even the push vehicle looks the same but B/Gas for the second picture.
Here's our 40 Chev at Carlsbad raceway in 1981. 311 stock head GMC6, 4-speed, Pontiac 4.88's. Very consistant 102 @ 13.10. Typical 80's paint. Photographer, " Offy Bob " Anderson said he was sure the left tire was up. At that time it held the XO/VGC records at both Bonneville and El Mirage. It is now stored in my sons back yard.
More about this car. I bought it in 1974. It was built at Blairs Speed Shop in Pasadena and owned by Noel Melovich. It had a straight axle and sat very high up. It was painted black and started with a 283 on the street, that was replaced with 409 after it was completed at Blairs. It has an all aluminum interior and firewall. Side and rear windows are plexiglass. Noel raced at Irwindale in a gas class as it did not have a front bumper then. I lowered it for LSR racing and drag raced it to at Irwindale, Orange County and Carlsbad. With an all iron GMC it weighed 2910. It also raced at the Super Chevy Sunday One. JD
That is awesome Jimmy Six. 13.10's with a ~3,000 lb car is very impressive and it's very cool the history/records this car has had. So as it sits today - is the GMC still in it?
Nothing is in it right now. We have a lot of 302 GMC's and one will go in it when we street it. I have the pink.
