  2. Two shoebox Fords sitting at rotting at Yarbrough Auto Parts near Cedartown GA, just hauled in. The black '49 still has the 8BA flathead in it, the '50 has no engine but is set up for a small block Chevy. Both too rusty to save but still some good parts Don't know the condition of the flathead, but it has had the hood on it so maybe the engine didn't get water down in it. If it will turn freely, it might be buildable. Floors and rockers are rotted out on both. The '50 has a pair of what looks like mid'60s GM bucket seats in it. Both are coupes, not Tudor sedans.

Looks like a '55 Fairlane Victoria to me. You can see bits of the '55 Ford grille in one pic, and a roof but I don't see any evidence of door pillars so I'm thinking it was a '55 2 door hardtop.

That one really is sitting and rotting, I'm not sure there's anything salvageable on that.

Canadian-built 1951 Monarch used the same taillights.

  15. Very cool ,often the Canadian versions had much better grilles, bumpers and trim details than their US counterparts!

The small-series '51 Lincoln used basically the same tail light as the Monarch, and they are styled very similar to the '51 Cosmopolitan but the bezels are different and do not interchange. The lenses might but the rest of the light is different.

Also, I guess I never realized that the '51 Cosmo still had the '49 style oval/jailbar rear window even though the cheaper, Mercury based models (and the Mercury itself) got the more modern 1 piece wraparound style rear window in '51.

  17. Possibly because it was such a low production model that the bean counters couldn't justify the cost for retooling. I think the 64-5 Caddy long wheelbase Fleetwood or Series 75 was the same

Regarding the older style, smaller rear windows, I always thought they were left that way to give a more private, formal effect. Especially when it came to the expensive, formal-type cars.

  21. Cool pics, the barn shot shows two Willys Whippets (27 and a 29-30, they are the same), a 37 Ford Pick-up and a 46-early 47 Ford Sedan. Behind the tree is a 30 Model A. JW
