They were on a local cl add. The car was parted out. I thought the pictures belonged here.
1957-'58 Oldsmobile V-8 J2 | Hemmings
For an extra kick in the pants, you could order the J2 option (code W). J2 had been around as a performance option since the early '50s, but for 1957 and '58, J2 ran three two-barrel carburetors. Historically, Oldsmobile's J2 beat Pontiac's Tri-Power to market by a matter of weeks. Olds had been developing 3x2-bbl carburetion for a couple of years under Pete Estes, an engine-development engineer and assistant chief engineer at Olds before he became chief engineer at Pontiac in September 1956.
Oh, oh, oh, I want the complete dash assembly out of that Olds.
How long ago were they parting it out?
And a starter motor with a bicycle chain to work the hoist.
It's so sad to see these once-vibrant vehicles picked over and decaying like this.
Find a solid one or two and rescue them. I have 5 rescues.
57 olds 371ci tripower
I have no connection with the ad. Here is a link.
These were on another ad from sioux city cl.
It's fun to look.
Went back to Buds in Greenville Mi found some more classic rust.

That Fox Body Mustang in the background looks like it would make a neat street cruiser.
Another trip to the junkyard.
Forgive me if most of the pics are Buick-centric, I’m going for Buick parts and am in the section of the yard where the Buicks are located
My old '59 F-350 wrecker
If that's just the Buick section, the rest of the yard must be huge!!
^^i could use that 57 Buick grille and all that's left of that 60 Buick. Wish I were closer
Not really, there are probably a few hundred. There is another yard nearby that needs help. The owner is 85 and may call it quits. He doesn’t think anyone wants junk parts. Denton’s Auto Parts. I’m afraid it will get crushed out when he passes away if not enough interest. It also has a few hundred cars
Tell Mr. Denton to have an auction. People come out from all over the place when there is a salvage yard auction. Problem is, as of now, nobody knows about his yard, an advertised auction would put him on the map.
Where in TN is Denton's? Might be worth a trip up there.
Exit 407 off I-40 to Hwy 66 north to Hwy 25 & 70 (aka) Asheville Hwy. 2366 West Hwy. 25 & 70, New Market, TN 37820. 865-933-7370. About 25 miles east of Knoxville. Also know that it will be a social visit, Clark is old school and doesn’t appreciate being rushed. Plan on spending time socializing and conversation. He has some interesting tales to tell and enjoys the company. I hope some of you can rescue some parts or basket case cars.
People used to know about his yard, there was a magazine article written some years ago. But since then business has fallen off.
I will plan a social visit if I get up to see Mr. Denton. We had an old guy like that near Dalton GA by the name of Arthur Richmond who died about 20 years ago. If Arthur didn't like you, it didn't matter how much money you had. If he liked you, he'd give you stuff. Henrietta the '38 Ford pickup benefitted from Arthur liking me.
I wonder why that Volvo had it's headlights blanked out like that.
Someone needs to save this one. I have too many projects. Guy said $1000 for it but he just threw that price out there. Probably get it for less
