That looks like a Renault, is it?
maybe,,,,,,,,,here is a pic from the other side.
It is a model AA truck, not a Renault.
This is a Renault
Sitting and rotting behind my shop.
Were those Renaults air-cooled?
No, there are 2 radiators on the side of the gearbox under the cowl and they were connected by a single radiator top.
Cool lookin' axle peeking out from under that fender.
Never seen rust so bad that even the valve cover was rusted through!
Maybe it had a head start from the inside. I've pulled valve covers from operational engines that were terribly rusted on the inside from condensation.
Studebaker I believe
I saved this all original 63 Impala, and I am currently restoring it on my YouTube channel here.
OOh. three pedals....and it looks like it used to have a factory tach. Good project.
Thank you! It is a 2 door hardtop with original 327 and 4 speed. It has 29,536 miles on it. And other than the factory tach missing everything else that I have found so far has been original. Even the distributor, alternator, starter, etc. are all original Delco-Remy parts from when the car was built in ‘63. Just makes me wonder why it was parked, and neglected for so many years. It was practically new...

There is something about Studebaker's rusting in fields with weeds up to their axles that is fascinating to me. I wish I had learned decades ago how to take a field find junk car and restore to driving status. Every time I see a field find car my first thought is "No Way!!", but my second thought is "Pull that sucker out, media blast it, prime it, and start on the engine and interior!!" This is how I fantasize about cars.
Soo Cool! We can build it. We have the technology!

Would like to know why this caddy was modified in this way to begin with.
That old Caddy was used as a starter car for harness racing,it paces the horses around the track, the big wings fold out for them to line up,they have a "rolling" start, they line up behind the gate and he gets them up to speed then he will pull away from them befor they get to the start line and they race around the track, its a big sport here where i live. harvey
