  6. I looked at buying a '40 nearly 25 years ago. It had some body damage but nothing really bad and it was still mostly solid. It would have been very expensive to restore because of the interior fabric. I learned they used some custom fabrics in some of the 60's and that one was no exception.
    My wife ultimately said no and that was the end of it.

    European cars from the 30's and 40's always looked too tall for how wide the were.

  11. Some but not all. I've seen a lot of European models that could easily pass for American ones. There seemed to also be a good market for American cars in Europe back then too.

  12. Ford had operations all over the world. My father was a WWII veteran who had been in Europe with the Second Armored Division. When I brought the '38 Ford pickup home, he said he couldn't look at it without thinking about how many Ford trucks the German army had.

    It needs a model a sunshade on there, and about a 4 inch drop in the front!
