Others may not know there is a ton of stuff in Shaniko.

I bought the REO from Shaniko. Our build adventure is at http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=799746, including more photos of the truck .

 

Thats Great! Shaniko is neat old town to visit. There are 2 barns full of old cars. I don't know if they are there anymore. It wasn't open when I went through so all I could do was take pictures through some very old single pane glass. They even had horse drawn wagons in there!

Looks like some old farm trucks just grazing after being put out to pasture.

 

Good thing that roadster has extra fenders.

Here's a 56 Chevy

 

finally talked to the owner after talking to others that work for him - it's at his business rotting and getting - like the winsheild - stuff stole off it...

last registered in the 80's but he has never drove it - a half done project that never has been finished....it's clipped but just tacked...the SB looks okay but not a runner....the tilt in the dash was just started....

a 20 footer....the inside is a mess....around one top hinge is solid rust through....maybe a mouse?

any way the first words is "you have to make a really good offer...$3500 not going to get it....

These two cars were owned by one of my dads high school buddies, in fact the 39 Deluxe Coupe used to be drag raced. The owner and his future wife went out on dates in the 39 coupe. They built a home next door to his parent's property, which included a large barn. Back in the 1970's both of these cars were safely stored in that barn. Unfortunately the guy's wife had a garage sale for her womens group, and volunteered to store the unsold items in the barn! There was not enough room in the barn for their junk... errr stuff, and the cars, so they were moved outside where they sat and rotted for over 30 years!!! About four years ago I was asked to determine their value. The owner's health was failing. Sadly they were so rotted, they could only get $2,500.00 each. Two local car guys bought them. The 32 truck went to a body shop to have it's floor replaced. The 39 was listed as a "true backyard find" for $10,000.00! I have since lost track of both cars. Hopefully they went to good homes!

 

I tried to make a deal on that roadster, but after he got so much interest he put it on ebay. Is it still there or is that a old picture ?

 

Yes same thing happened to me!!!! Saw it on kijiji. Called him and he panicked. I think it sold for like $2000?

Saw this from the Interstate in Utah.

 

Saw this today, don't run across many Chevy sedan deliverys. She's rough, but the back door looked nice.
