Here's a success story in the making. My wife bought me this 46 chevy as a welcome home present and I will be rescuing it in about a week after I get back home to Missouri.

Made another trip to the river. Erosion control from the early '70s. You can see more pics in my other thread if you want, I think it's called pics of river cars or something like that. Flathead v8 in the old ford wagon, rocket 8 in the olds, fire dome hemi in the desoto.

Here is my last post for the week...leaving tonight for Torque Fest!

These cars are on a piece of property North of me, never see much move, the occasional car disappears and then theirs another added, many people have tried but have been unable to buy anything, rumor has it that he owns a couple big buildings in other towns around me that are full of cars also. Several Hearses on this property, most of them are newer 80s style.

Heres another yard that belongs to a friend of mine, been about a year since I walked around on the hill side but I think some of the cars have been hauled off when scrap was so high last year.....Mostly late 60s early 70s mopars, including a 340 4-speed '70 Duster, then alot of 69-70 Chevy Pickups. But he does have a few older cars stored in the mix....

  14. Wish I had that '55 Ford Mainline. Most Mainlines were 6 cylinder 3 on the tree, but that old 223 six was a good engine. Seldom saw a V8 Mainline unless it was an old cop car.

Nice save there! I notice the steering wheel doesn't seem to be cracked; is that typical in the frozen North? And there's a free '61 or '62 Plymouth taillight in the trunk.

Wait a second. Is that a radio AND heater delete? In Alaska???

Yeah- lady who owns it has kept it in the barn since the 70s- she said she would sell it, then wanted to talk to someone first, then she needed to think more... Then she said her son "might want it" - really annoying -I think with the right amount of cash in hand it might happen ImageUploadedByTJJ1367584243.183159.jpg ImageUploadedByTJJ1367584316.450236.jpg

Hi, I'm new here. I saved this one. Nothing fancy or anything, but a solid original 54 Buick Super.

    Where I found it.
Even had traction control hoppers in the trunk that dropped grit through tubes by the rear wheels.

And finally at work, new brakes, exhaust fixed, running and driving! Sorry the pictures are so big, the resizer wouldn't resize.

Wow...how cool is that car? And it even comes with sanders; I've never seen those on a car. You got yourself a really nice car there.

It's a very old farm house. An older couple lived there. The inside looked like a time warp to the late 40's. The old guy I bought the Buick from was very peculiar. He'd be telling me a story of something that happened back in 62 or so and asking me if I remembered that? I had already mentioned I was born in 74 and was not from the area. Then he'd do it again, he was wacky, I liked him! I no longer have this car, had it some time and traded it to a friend for a paint job on another car. The hopper system was awesome and worked via a switch on the steering column. Hit the toggle switch, red light comes on, hoppers open up. I've never seen another set like it!

If you can, show her photos of other cars you have built, especially ones you have restored, tell her about your love of cars and prove to her you will take care of it... she might be more willing to let it go then. (assuming you will take care of it LOL)
