Technical Single point Mallory into a 28 A model

Can anyone please tell me what the starting and finishing degrees are and possibly the curve that is needed by a Distributor specialist I'm taking it to to set up the Mallory.
Just a standard engine,standard flywheel,nothing special,94 carb fitted.
The situation at the moment is the mallory only has mechanical advance,is brand new and when I set it at 10 degree on idle it won't advance at all once the revs are increased so I suspect the springs are to heavy for such a low revving motor. The Distributor is a YS701AVC if that helps,
