    Holy shite, dude!

If it's any consolation, you've just totally inspired me with your homemade body dollys, there. Granted, everything I have would require I use railroad ties, but holy crap, those rock!

You should submit those for tech week. They're simply elegant. :D

I hope to be off this list soon. Emergency spinal fusion with screws and plates in Sept. (basically a broken back) 6-8 months of no twisting bending or lifting. Nothing like Elcornus.
I feel for you man. Makes for alot of computer time though.

  9. I'm busy working hard to make money for the projects, which I no longer have time to work on. Where does that fit?

Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure , bad cholestrol and the real biggie myastenia gravis go search that one on google. That one almost took me out last February. I am just now getting back to a state of normalcy. Problem is once you have it you have it for life. No fun. So I guess this would qualify me for sick. But guess what? I still go out and do what I can in the garage.

ha ha ,read a little closer,Doc sustained those in the service of this nation, whose previous government then treated him and plenty of others like him ,like shit and refuse to honor them with the dignity of Free medicals and support and to top it off , make them grovel through our courts to prove their cases.

July 13, 1988 an industrial garage door collapsed on me. 3 1/2 years hospitalized and 7 brain operations. 1 1/2 years in a rehab hospital learning how to walk, dress myself, feed myself and write my name. After being told I'd never drive a car again I've had my license back for over 8 years. Still suffer with severe headaches and skeletal damage.
By the grace of God, the skill of some wonderful doctors, surgeons, rehab specialists and the support and prayers of a faithful wife, family, and friends I enjoy EVERY day that I'm here. Some days are more productive than others but having saved the bulk of the shop equipment from my fabrication business and a lifetime collection of old Ford junk I've got plenty to keep me busy until my time is up.
When the laziness kicks in that wonderful wife I mentioned has a way of "motivating" me back into action. Sometimes I think she learned too much from sitting in on some of those rehab sessions. :)

  18. I thought you were reading my MRI results for a second there, except I'm two years older than you...lol The injections didn't do shit for me at all, I even got a round of Botox the last time. Nothing like laying on your stomach watching the monitor as they put the needle in your joints, then they have the nerve to ask if that felt familiar.
I'm ready to switch doctors, my injury was June of 05 and still in pain 24/7. Good luck man, I know how you feel trust me, you forgot the bone spurs though...lol

I've been lucky so far, all my ailments are self inflicted, and can't compare to what Iv'e read on this post, I guess at this time, the best I can do is, put me on top of the lazy list.

Jeez, guys... I'm 34. Y'all give me so much hope for the future. :D LOL!

...is it just me, or do y'all actually comment to yourself as you walk by a car at a car show that's as old as you are, "Gee... that car's in better shape than I am!"? I know I do sometimes. ;)

Phill!! Good to see (Umm, hear or is that read?) that your up and about. Hope all goes well in your recovery.

As for dealing with Veterans Affairs the only win I have had was getting them to pay for some medical bills and a HUGE compensation pay out of $4,500. I was on a permanent life long pension but they took that off me and are making me pay back $10,500 but cant tell me why. Denied any other claim for compensation because 'Parachuting is voluntary' not required of service. Funny, I thought serving itself was voluntary!
The list of broken parts is a bit linger but Im not going into details, there are some people on here that have had it/ do have it a LOT worse than me.

I bet that you can tell the posts I make when Im on pain killers compared to times like now. Yeah I spend a lot of time on here, my project car is in NSW and Im in Qld. Not much else to do you guys seem to keep me sane............... er..................... sane-er?

Mercmad, best of luck mate hope all goes well. Being that you are about an half hour away if you need any help during your recovery e-mail or call me 07 5437 3444!
    Doc.

Shit - I can relate to so much of this. Born in 64. Major spinal operations in 84 (bloody rugby), 2000 and 2004. They've cut bits out, screwed cages, plates and rods in, injections, drugs - you name it. Nerves are buggered now - heavy scarring blah blah blah. Also 2 operations to sew back the right index finger I nearly chopped off working on a project car - 2mm left. Now heart and blood problems.

Have lost too many friends already so can't complain!

    Noddy

P.S Thoughts are with you Mercmad.

Wow.. that sucks. If your heart isn't beating properly I can't imagine that you have been able to do much since then. I know when mine goes out of time I'm about as useful as a wet rag. Just sitting up straight is tough.
    Good luck!

All you young, invincible guys.. read these posts carefully.
The human body is a whole lot easier to wreck and harder to repair than a rusty, crunched up old car.
But who listens to others giving advice....
