We have a variety of threads about various aspects of Route 66 (individual trips, plans, etc.), but I don’t see one with just pics of the many cool things along the way. Can this be true?

How about some pictures of the cool streets, motels, gas stations old and new, and cars along the Mother Road?

Here are some pics from various parts of 66 in AZ, mostly near Needles(CA), Kingman, and Seligman.

    Giddy up.

I live pretty close too and have very few pics as well. But, here are a couple from last week in front of a couple landmarks when I was shaking down a car.

20200908 winduptoy.jpg Lewis Antique Auto & Toy Museum, Moriarty, NM. A must visit on Rt 66.
    That is @winduptoy 's Model A.

Another (wet) day to the east, the traditional Shamrock, TX picture.
Note: Not all RT-66 towns are full of photo opportunities. My namesake town (McLean, TX) has some very run down areas. The railroads converted from steam to diesel and many jobs went away. I-40 appears to have finished the employment opportunities.

Needles and Barstow never looked so good! Lol
thank you for sharing all your pictures!

Santa Rosa NM has a really nice car museum! We had to stop there for a trailer tire and ended up going to the museum across the street owned by the same family. Really nice people and worth stopping for. We’ve been back a few times.

FAP marker in Tijeras Canyon on the post 1927 alignment. FAP was for Federal Assistance Primary as US66 was designated a Primary highway. US, by the way was for 'Unified System' a system that assigned highway numbers as they transformed from "Highway Trails" identification.

Amboy, CA. I prefer the black-and-white version.
