Its time to give the beast her own tool box, I want to make something smokin kool, Dont care about your contents just want to admire the box, not your shop box now, your cars travel box. Thanks guys.
I have been looking for a vintage carry around box for a while. I think that the cantaliever boxes are the most usefull for a hot rod as you can neatly store so many small screws, clips and such in the small compartments.
Im gonna make a couple different types, wood with dove tailed edges, a couple of small boxes, a couple of mid sized boxes, I'll show them to the guys here and see whats liked. I thought there would be a lot of cool boxes.

I bumped this up to show off my new aluminum with copper rivits bed box I had Mike Mercurio, the bomber seat maker, build for me. He is a Hamber and does great work. I saw a battery box he made and thought he could do a larger version for pick-ups. He followed the sketch I sent him pretty closley. I will have Eric at Hot Rod Leather make up some cool straps with copper plated hardware. I'm going to use this to replace the one I made for George the 40 Chevy pickup. I'll post pictures when I install it. I thinks it's very cool!
I carry all my stuff in this old trunk i pick up at a swap meet. Made by METAL BUILT. Not sure of the age, but old. I keep my side curtains, tools, extra gas, fire extinguisher, etc in there.
