Well its street legal, ran 10.2@132 with the old 454 (have since upsized to 540) and its got the rego plate AA/FA so I guess tho I call it a hot rod, some could call it a street alltered.

Always know it's DaGrove with the distinctive tree in the backgound. Man, this is a early shot; no billboards, lights or Broadway Bob.

    Wheelie.. You're doing it wrong.

Reminds me of the time a kid at the track rolled his tuner civic to the line in reverse in an attempt to pull the (rear) wheels. For some reason only known between God and the starter they let him try. It wasn't pretty to say the least and the kid almost took out the tree...

My brothers and I ran these two altereds between 94-02, both ran carbed B/B Chevs, Roadster best 8.32 sec and Bantum 7.98 sec.

Picture of mine, some local guys ran it in the early 70's. When I bought it two year's ago I wanted a mid 60's look. I think it turned out pretty well.

If you look closely at the photo...You will see it is just the left rear tire off the ground. Probably got crossed up and rocked a little. That is what makes these car so exciting to watch.

For anyone who has a newer, funnycar style altered:

Could i bother you with a request for:

    1) Frame width---especially in the front, from the engine on forwards. You can measure from the top or outsides or insides of the framerails; It doesn't matter, i just need an "accurate ballpark" measurement.

    2) Front track width. Again, you can measure from the tops or inside sidewalls or outside sidewalls of the tires.

Actually a picture of the front would be appreciated as well. Thanks in advance.

Here's some mesurements for you from my altered.
The frame rail mesurements are in-side to in-side.
The upper frame rails at the front motor plate 17 3/4".
The upper frame rails at the center of the front axle (33" ahead of the front motor plate 17".
Front track width center to center 47".

On another note before you decide on the final measurements for your frame rails (this also applies for a FED chassis), get the engine, transmission, and starter you are going to use, measure from the center of the crankshaft to the outer most part of the block, bell-housing. or starter. Then double that measurement, and make your upper frame rails at least that dimension inside to inside so that the engine trans, starter is easily removed as one unit so you can avoid the problem I had with my chassis being too narrow to allow a SBF bell-housing to fit without having to do the modification as shown in the picture below for bell housing clearance.

It makes it a little intresting to get the transmission out.

    Thanks for the measurements.

Next, about how much do the newer, funnycar style altereds weigh with an all iron small block?
