HERE IS A COUPLE OF PICS, OF MY '48 BUICK...
RIGHT ON BRO, GLAD YOU LIKE THEM.
My dad's 48 Poncho, and as good a time as any to show off one of Chromedrat's shift knobs.
hey! dont fret..
mine still isnt done..
but man.. this has got to be the best thread lately..
PONTIAC, BUICK and OLDS are where its at..
I sure have enjoyed it!!! These cars have been looked over and passed by for way too long! Its great to see them finally coming into their own. Hopefully I'll be driving next year
Thanks to everyone who has posted. It is so rare that we see these cars on here. The inspiration is back! I have a lot of ideas from the pics and am back in the shop!!!
The correct way to do a Buick.
My dad's 48 roadmonster he sold a few years ago.
This has been a great thread. Thanks again everyone! They just keep coming!

some classy rides. i've got a friend lookin for a 46-48 Buick convertable project car. i have no clue what his plans are for it but he wants one pretty bad.
There is a sectioned, chopped roadmaster convertible project available here in town
El Polacko could get you in touch with the owner.
Speaking of convertibles, this sexy bitch ('48 Buick) just ended on ebay:
This has got to be one of the most beautiful American car designs of all time...they just need to be lowered and have dual exhaust (like this one) to look even more killer.
I really love this Buick. It sits just right from every angle....:-}
my '48 super. one owner, still has the original hand written bill of sale with it. i did replace the grille with a NOS '42, which i like better.
Ask your friend if he might be interested in a '47 Olds convertible project car instead. Rusty Olds is going up for sale.....$7,600.
'47 buick convert project seattle craigslist. $5800. 206 465 5343
Btt with my 48 Special
**Beautiful car, John. This is my '48 Super sedanet...I've always thought that these cars look best from the rear (like other things in life).
Here's my friend Bill's Buick Special. EFI staight 8 and all !!!
I believe it's a '50 Olds. Great, too!
Wow! More pictures, pul-ease.
My favorite among the GM cars of this period, and a rare one; 1948 Olds 98 fastback. Same body as a Cadillac, but much less common:
You shure that isn't a 49 it looks alot like one I thought all the 48s had the bubble on the doors that went into the fender.
except the specials, which kept the 48 look into 49.
You're thinking of a 76, or whatever the smaller body was called. '48 Olds 98 and Cad had an all new body (this one) which continued with minor changes into '49. The distinguishing detail on Olds is that '49s have the bags under their eyes like an 88, but the '48s just have a little round parking light below the headlight.
It's been 8 years guys. There must be a few more by now!
totally forgot about this thread..
My 1948 Oldsmobile wagon. I'd entered this photo in the Rodders Journal fall photo contest..
