I know that there is a short Muncie 4 speed used in 4x4's that has a short tailhousing. Are there any 3 speed short tailhousing transmissions for 4X4's? Saginaw or Muncie ? 3 Speed Saginaw with a short tailhousing would be the best as the 3 speed Saginaw is what the circle track guys redo into a 2 speed(no 1st gear) just 2nd and 3rd.
Still thinking of building a HamB Rail job. However it would be like the Barn Job 18 a rear engined rail. So I'd like to run a 3 Speed trans with a short tailhousing hooked to the 8" or 9" rearend. Engine is still up in the air leaning toward a 170 Falcon 6 cylinder engine or an older Flathead 254 Ford 6.
