I'm having a problem with the header on the driver's side in that the plug wires are touching them and will eventually melt. I'm trying to find shorter plugs for a 350 but the only ones I've found are shorter on the spark end, not the plug wire end.

Does anyone know which ones to get and where to get them? Thanks in advance!

Try Jegs or Summit. I think the Accel part number is 8145

Once upon a time some people used chain saws plugs when they needed short.
    I never tried it.

Accell still sells them. Just installed a set because I had the same problem. Got them at my local speed shop.

Thanks to all for the help, I really appreciate it. The only Accel shorty plugs that I can find are only 1/4 inch shorter than regular plugs. I've got Thorleys on my 350 and it's just too close for comfort. Are the Accels the only ones that make shortys?

    Also, they aren't 8145. I found these...

    and these...

Which ones would be better and is it gonna be enough to clear? I'm not so sure...

If this helps any heres measurements from mine. I run the Accel 576S plugs (part # 8199 for a set of 8) and gained 1/2" of clearance. The part sicking out (top of taper to end of plug) on the 576S is 2" which for me is 1/2 an inch shorter than the AC Delco R45TS plugs I was running. The metal part is shorter and the ceramic part is shorter.

    Brigs and Stratton spark plugs...
I used to buy a regular SBC plug @ .59 cents to replace the factory short one that sold for ~$3.00, so the thread and reach is simmilar.

Your post kinda confused. I went to Brigg and Stratton's website and found some short ones but they say they're for flat-head and L-head. The ones that look longer are for OHV engines.

I'm going to have to modify the plug wires. They're MSDs that were recommended by them in order to hide the wires. I can get a pic a little later to show the setup.

No, that's correct... The good old fashoned B&S 3.5 HP flat head that was produced for 1/2 a century.

Go here to find your plug. They have a look-up for "Header Plug". Looks like I had the PN wrong
    http://www.accel-ignition.com/pdf/Plug_Applications.pdf

Then go to Summit or Jegs and do a look up on the part number 8199 or whatever. I found the normal search on these websites may not find them, but if you search by PN it should show up

    http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stor...8199&Ntx=mode+matchallany&Dx=mode+matchallany

    Or here

Will these work on a mildly built 350 or will I endanger my engine in any way?
