Thank you! Building 30s-40s cars is my true love, but this ranchero has been a lot of fun and its always kinda "told" me what it needed next
I forgot to put some pictures, but I swapped the hood out for a beat up 57 ford hood. the donor hood was so bad that it allowed me to try out some louvers in a pattern I had been picturing. In a weird way, I think they're inspired by some mid 60's gm muscle cars, but I won't tell anyone that if you guys don't! Really I think I wanted to combine the clean 57 hood line with the 58 dual headlights. I also wanted the louvers, but didn't want them to take over the hood, rather I wanted them to add just enough style to compliment it.
Thank you! Ha! No, it was probably 5-6 years between rear bumper and skirts. The skirts did lead to some curb feelers though
Cars like yours push me closer to getting into a mild custom. Not all cars take the custom touches as nice as yours - great taste!
Thank you! It's slowly getting wilder and wilder, but I'm trying to keep it cohesive and looking like it was meant to be.
Thank you! Glad you guys are liking it so far. It was looking pretty good, so I decided to cut it up some more...
It’s obvious you got the eye for what works…even cooler is the fact you keep searching for the perfect look for your eyes…keep showing us your work!
I love your skirts. Lots of good stuff on this one. Takes some guts to cut those nice quarters off. I suspect it will turn out great.
I keep checking back to see what the quarter will look like. Hopefully you make faster progress on projects than I do.
Thank You! Thanks! This is years of occasional work. It is pretty cool to see it all laid out on one thread though! Thank you! Piece by piece. I saw these different quarters for a while and the old ones had to go! Thanks! Not nearly that wild! but I'm guessing you've seen the current ranchero version already. Ha! Thank you. I usually dive in, so I can't turn back if I get cold feet. Thank you! Grand Junction, about an hour from the Utah border. Ha! Hahahaha! All rough cuts under the surface, hopefully someday I'll pull the whole thing apart and finish it out. Thank you! Again, this is years worth of sometimes work
Edsel v shaped taillights from a station wagon would've looked great. I remember a guy when I was a kid that grafted them on the back of a '57 Fairlane and it looked killer.
Love your Ranchero and all of the body mods you've done. The only part I'm not keen on is the gray going up to the roofline. It reminds me of the nuns in The Trouble with Angels movie.
What a kool project Love the kustom made tail lights, the back bumper and the killer skirts. Keep us posted, its kool watching it come together.
Lol @Rolleiflex I had a huge crush on Hayley Mills as a kid,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Please carry on with this awesome car, cheers
A friend of mine has built a few Edsel rancheros, they always look great! Thanks! Ha! Fair enough. It's a temporary color, but there's no pleasing everyone regardless. Awesome! Thank you! Right on! Sounds good!
