I wonder if the 58 Steering wheel would fit on the olds column... I guess I got to pop off the existing olds wheel and see what will fit....

The relese lever on the column is in the actual column and the olds wheel looks like it would fit a standard column without any problems.... It may just be a simple swap.

Unfortunately those old pictures are lost due to the older versions of the board using photo-hosting websites instead of hosting the pictures directly, but it's possible someone saved them somewhere and can re-post.

Post some pics of the car today, maybe the thread will get seen by someone who has the old pics to repost.

I had posted some on different thread but will post a few on this one also of how the car looks today. We’ll all pics within last week or so, interior pics a little longer than that but looks the same still. 1F646F1E-982C-4821-B954-881935EA9378.jpeg 45EB2493-2C74-469A-A01C-5B2CF073A59D.jpeg 4A9AA473-62C0-449A-8B06-1C539CD65CFD.jpeg 8CA9F64A-584A-4EC7-85BA-D2B191FCA032.jpeg 3F35F86B-F700-44E7-B9B7-21BD7B1A0F7E.jpeg 01FC0BB4-FACD-4658-821B-7B0DB2AA6653.jpeg 64BCE95E-9A39-47E3-B2A7-D99D16C7E6D4.jpeg 3101EBFD-3481-45D6-9A97-14B182E22833.jpeg B24EA6CF-064F-4327-AF38-DD6DE0729860.jpeg 61D1CBC8-154D-49DF-9DB6-911831B9F1B0.jpeg 398B96BF-7853-48A1-9108-49E3AE72B6B6.jpeg 55168162-E49A-47FB-BB5A-7470AC1F189E.jpeg FA69B318-C6E7-4E37-A055-8E87AB6C18FA.jpeg

Nice to see the steering column and wheel have been changed to something more appropriate. That column might still be modern but anything is better than those giant plastic 70's GM columns in a 50's car, and I like the wheel, which is era-appropriate to the interior.

Thank you! Sorry I’m new at this and still picking up on how to work it all exactly. Have always read info on this site but never made my own account. Very helpful site. Does there happen to be an app for this site? Thanks!

i completely agree! Still have to get a drop on it maybe 2” due to windshield being so small and it in line of sight. But here is a pic of the car with the old column and wheel. Worst part of the car. Which I’m sure the tilt/telescopic is cool being chopped and it being so adjustable but I have one in my 66 caprice and don’t care for it because sometimes I accidentally loosen it not paying attention and the wheel starts pulling out on me. And I think this column and the old wheel look wonderful compared to that big bulky column and the olds wheel still.

there was an app, but it was shit canned after they (tapatalk) wanted to sell the members personal info. Ryan would not allow it and killed the app

That’s ok by me. Great to protect peoples privacy! So no hard feelings there. Just wanted to ask. Thank you! Is there anyway to post a thread on trying to see if anyone may know more info? Or have other pics. I know a good bit but still have no idea who put the quarters on or who actually did the front end. Have papers from when it was all redone in 1983 and papers from 1960 where korky chopped the top but no actual knowledge on who built the rest of car. Appreciate all the info you have helped with
