I recently put a mustang gas tank in my 49 Ford and can't seem to get the gas gauge to work. It reads between 1/2 and 3/4 full. I've tried doing searches and read about using a ground strap. I tried grounding sending unit body with no change. Does anybody know what I'm missing or need to do? Thanks.

Did you do a voltage drop?

You may have to "adjust/bend" the float arm to get it to travel all the way to the top and bottom of the tank. If the arm is too long, bend it so that it reads full and you'll have an empty reading at 3/4 of a tank.

    VR&C.

  6. Probably fixed it by now. Thread is a year and a half old.
