What do you think?
Rare? That is a CG rendering. Show me a real one.
For more info....
Cool, now get to work. I want to see a real one.
Looks like a Volvo
I always wondered what one would look like.
I stumbled across this looking for something entirely different.
I have to admit, it's not as sleek as a Chevy.
But, still cool.
Nope, not as sleek as a Chevy
Looks a lot like Plymouth's version, though.
Hey Ford did build one proto type for design development in this fastback style, but givin all that was going on at Ford during the lanch of the "49 Schewbaux it's no wonder this didn't make the cut.
A picture of the prototype shows up in " Collectable Automobile '' magazine last year, with the feature of ''The Automobiles of Fourty-Nine ''
Found this on the net a while back.
Need to see a Photo Chop on that one.
I was thinking the same thing.
Awkward transition to the trunk. Done right it would be interesting.
Me too - that's the first thing that crossed my mind . It looks like they re-planted the roof from a 444/544 Volvo onto a Shoebox . It's interesting ...
Here's a quickie chopped and lowered version......
not interesting unless you slice'n'dice the whole roof
Google Dan Palatnik and a link to a large batch of his renderings pop up. He has several more drawings of shoeboxes along with a lot of nifty what if cars.
That's probably why they're rare!
Let's see a '54 Chevy fastback...!
Looks like a Henry J.
More of Dan's shoebox work.....
I like this one....
good call. it really does.
I love the fastback shoebox look, but agree the trunk transition would need to flow better.
I always thought the Volvo looked more like the earlier Fords of post WWII.
First thing I thought.
