I really like it with the chrome spears running down the sides to the tail lights. Are you putting them back on?

  3. my exhaust guy built it himself. it was really neat.

no the 51 tail lights will not be going back on.

  6. so not a lot of visual change has happened. I have at this point gone through and replaced most of the braking system, replaced the trans tail shaft seal and a few other small things. we have 12 days until santa maria and i still need to finish the brakes and get an alignment. but we are getting close. I have decided to haul the car to the show because i have flat ran out of time to put any local miles on it. any way here are a few pics. And i would also like to say thanks to paul garland for letting me use his shop, keeping me motivated and lending a hand.

Great to hear it's getting some miles on it... What did you use for the paint on the door and such? I'm looking for something that's close-ish in color to cover the primer once I start fixing things.

  11. It's krylon rattle can almond primer. It's actually matches pretty good.

  14. Well it has been a busy summer and I am lagging on working on the shoebox and updating this thread. That is about to change though. I have driven the car quite A lot actually and this is what I have learned. The current flathead that is in it is kind of tired and for sure burns oil. A deal came up this morning through socal speedshop sacramento that I could not pass up. So I am the proud new owner of a 3x2 powered 8ba that i will start swapping today. I will say the socal sacramento guys are true car guys and great to deal with call them with your needs. Anyway here are some new pics for you guys.

2200 without breaking down? Yesterday I went around the block.

  20. we had a few minor problems that were all completely my fault. such as no heater or wipers. and the drivers window fell of the track when it was 39 degrees that was brutal.

  21. well I had a mechanical failure yesterday. lost the right rear axle bearing. I am very happy that it did not happen on the trip!
