I lowered my '59 Apache by removing 3 leaks in the front and 4 leaves in the rear. Now I need to find shocks. This lowered it 3" in the front and 5 1/2" in the rear. I am looking for recommendations as to what shocks to buy ? Any help would be appreciated.
They easy part is measuring what length you need. The hard part is finding a parts house thats willing to look it up in the book. Good luck.
Classic performance DT4052G (10 compressed versus 12 stock) will work for the front, you will need a different mount for the rear I think. The stock rear shock is 14 compressed and the Classic Performance for the rear are DT4163G 12.75 compressed. Maybe run 4 front shocks, I think the mounts are the same? Here is the Monroe Chart Stock Fronts are 31000, rear 37188 Also http://www.tuckersparts.com/home.php?cat=644&veh=
You can download Monroe and other brand PDF that have all the lengths and travel distances and figure that way. Then you have a manufacturer part number for the parts guy to look for. I have done that in the past and seems to work well. Posted from the TJJ App for iPhone & iPad
