    Okay Gents....
Have a 350/350 combo with an idit column. Going down the road if I hit a bump or jump on the gas it shifts to a lower gear. Have checked the fluid and the linkage...all good. What else could cause this? Something in the column?

Broken trans mount? Sometimes the vulcanized rubber on the trans mount will tear.

You didn't exactly say if the shifter lever dropped. Did it?

    Attached Files:

  10. With the rod running straight to the transmission, when the engine/trans rocks from a bump or acceleration it is forcing the shift arm to downshift.

To further add. The weight of the rod going down to the trans and the shift lever it's self are on gravity's side. Does the shifter have a detent? or I should ask does it have a non stock design that allows N D 2 1 to just float between one another without any sort of lock out? A visual example being......
