Here is a shot of the side buttoned up for now. There will be more to do when the rest of the hood is finished.

Thanks Guys. My welding ability on sheet metal leaves a little to de desired but I am happy with it so far. I really like welding 1/8" to 1/4" I am confident with that, but the 18 or 22 ga. sheet metal I struggle with.

Damn Bob, From the pictures it looks like you are doing quite well with the sheet metal work. Your determination is an asset when doing this type of work. Looking Good !!!
By the way, I recently acquired a 36 Chevy Standard Coach (no trunk) This is the first 36 Chevy that I have owned. Car has a 109" wheelbase.

I thought I would update this thread so some of you guys could see my progress after your help and advice. The next series of picture are how I did the top of the hood. Also I was able to bring the nose sides in to meet the hood sides.

side view of the hood piece. Next step is to remove the nose and start making the mounts for the hood, nose and fenders to tilt forward. Hope you like it.

    Thanks Art,
I really appreciate the compliments. I have been able to learn a lot through building the Fiat, It's a figure things out as I go process. The car is far from perfect but I am happy with it.
Stop in anytime. Always like when folks stop to check it out. Get's me away from work for a little while.:)

Just found your thread while looking at one about "panels". Your are doing some "amazing work" combined with very creative "one off ideas"

I have an Opel Kadett station wagon gasser.... doing a "body off" and putting it on a tube chassis. While I am at it I have been kicking around the idea of "chopping" the roof & converting it to a "panel".

Your Fiat gasser has given me a lot to think about.

I like having "something different"....... your Fiat definitely goes WAY BEYOND that!!!!! :D

    Thanks very much,
I looked a lot of years for a project that was out of the ordinary. Got lucky in the right place at the right time. Your Opel is pretty kool I have been checking it out from time to time. My folks had a Kadett when I was a kid and I have always liked them.
