Technical Shackle placement

Can you place shackle pointing up a 45 degrees instead of down at 45 degrees?

 

transverse spring set up or parallel leaf?

 

Ever seen an old parallel leaf spring dirt track car? The shackle don't know and doesn't care. Depending on the side...one up and one down.

 

Unless you have a tight pan hard bar, it won’t stay like that. Will probably underextend and flip over on a big bump.

 

If you want them up it would be better if they're past 90° so they won't flip over center ...
