  5. The two "Brian car guys" (Setzer & Wilson) teamed up a few years ago, on an album called M.O.M. or something like that, and belted out one of the best versions of "Little Deuce Coupe" I have ever heard, and I've heard a few versions.

If ya liked that version you will love this CD. He has an editorial saying he was trying to keep it as true traditional Rockabilly as possible. I belive its his best work to date. The kool thing in the editoial he says that he can't wait to start working on volume two.........

    Happy Trails,

    Mick

Setzer takes some shit from anti-rockabilly types, but the man is one of the most gifted guitarists I've ever heard...AND a heckuva cool "car guy" to boot.

Met him at a guitar show years ago, and we talked about his old Model A (the one from the old Stray Cats videos and album covers)...that was one of the first HOT RODS that ever turned me on, I was asking him how he could live with himself for selling it...

"It was cool, but far from perfect. I'll do a better one NEXT time around!" he said.

He also owned the old Merc driven by the Pharohs in "American Grafitti" and said the car was a mess. He had it completely redone to make it halfway presentable, but still laughed about it's original build quality!

Nice guy, knows cars and plays a mean guitar. Setzer Rules!!!

Wish he would have a show here in NY, only show once a year is his Christmas special w/the orchestra. Seen it twice and it was great but only saw him once recently w/ just the Cats.

I'd almost consider flying somewhere to see a show promoting Rockabilly Riot!!

    Come Back to NY Brian!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    We need more rockabilly here!!!

First rockabilly CD I ever bought was one by Brian Setzer. Picked it up while in Pacific Beach. Absolutely loved the music and then realized that what drew me to it was that Brian was the son of fellow 70's funny car guy, Barry Setzer.

I wore out his first solo tape. That guy is excellent. I love the song "Rebeline". Once I hear it, it just keep playing over and over in my head. I hope it makes it to volume 2.

  24. Ordered it too...

Ive been a massive fan of Setzer's since I first picked up Runaway Boys in 1981. Ive been lucky enough to see him live 7 times, but never with the BSO b/c he never toured Down Under with them.

The guy is a musical genius....ie he makes the diffcult seem easy, AND he is a gearhead....does it get any better ?

    Nuf said !!
