I've got an original model a frame that I'm cleaning up/building for my next project. I'd like to keep the original rear crossmember and use the transverse spring but mounted to a modern axle. Whats the best way to get this accomplished?

Cut off the late model spring pads, weld on some spring hangers to fit the Model A spring, buy some shackles, mount your spring and put it in. Be sure to weld the spring hangers at the same distance as those on the stock Model A axle.

  3. If you'd rather not fab your own or use the original hangars you can get all the parts you need for this job from a Speedway catalog.
