So, a buddy gave me a 1966 mustang tank with sending unit, both new (he left the country and didn't get around to using them). I'm putting it in my apache. Anyway, I tested the sending unit and it reads 27-99 ohms. I'm under the impression Ford is typically 0-90 ohms. More importantly I'm trying to find a cheap 2" gauge for this unit but am not having much luck. Any ideas?
i always thought that Ford had 10 full and 73 empty in them years http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=results/category_id=159/mode=cat/cat159.htm
I agree with the 73 empty, 10 ohms full statement. Stock Chevy resistance up to the mid 60s was 0 empty, 30 full. So a Ford sender will move the Chevy gauge backwards. If it's really a properly working mustang sender, then these gauges should work https://www.summitracing.com/search...4294904116&SortBy=Default&SortOrder=Ascending
Ford is 10-73. I picked up a 2" gauge at orielly auto parts. You can order them online from autozone. Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
