At least you didn't have to drive through boring ass North Dakota! Great pix! Have a safe trip man!
Glad you are still rolling and having a great time!
Congrats, Brian. That's a hell of an accomplishment. Thanks for all the updates and pics. I know it's tough to take the time to document all this stuff while on the road. I'm sure it's clear by all the posts here that we all really appreciate it.
Have fun out there and here's to a bitchin', trouble-free drive back to Texas!
I hope you detail your trip home as well. Nice read for sure
Brian, when your eyes start to feel like that last pic, it's time to pull over.... Good shit. I love road trips more than most things.
Glad to hear the hemi is runnin great. Keep up the pics, ive been glued to this thread the whole way!!
I felt kinda bad ass driving a chopped custom to Austin with my brother, we had no side or back glass and drove through some (literally) freezing weather...
Not any more... Great photos!
I'm off to Portugual and Spain tomorrow night but I so want to be a passenger in that Model A!!

...keep us posted Brian, safe travels.
Fucking awesome... Thanks for sharing your trip with us!
Hope the rest of your trip goes well, and without problems. Enjoy!
Pretty sure the street rods were heading to Louisville, street rod nationals.
Thats a great trip and good job documenting it. Last year my wife and I honey mooned from KS to CA and up into WA in our 51 chevy with a teardrop camper. If you didnt like talking to people its a good way to learn cause people love to talk about old cars.
Have a safe trip and enjoy.
Thanks for taking us all along for the ride brother
I feel ya on the bug thing. I am always amazed at how many of the little bastards make it inside, and alive, when I run with the windshield open. Very cool trip, thanks for the report.
x2. Simply awesome.
Very Very Cool! Cant wait until tomorrow In Tacoma. That shot over Vantage is awesome. What a great trip to plug into the memory bank.
Seconded! (And very well said!)
get with it!!!
The bugs come in because the flow field around your window sucks them in. It doesn't happen on more modern cars because the contoured winshield directs the flow more outward than a flat windshield of the early model cars.
What an adventure! This is what it is all about. Not allowing the storms, flat tires, small fuel cells, and blistering heat to discourage you. Not only braving the storms but embracing them! Pushing forward in the face of adversity the lonely little Hot Rod refuses to be swayed from her course. Fight the good fight! That little Model-A has an old soul, she has seen worse times than these by a long shot! BRING ON THE STORM!
Wow. If you come to NJ, I'm getting in and tagging along. Dont care where you drop me off at. This is the coolest!
Keep the updates coming Brian. Dave and I were bulllshitting last night and he said he tried to get you over here to the Black Hills. Looks like plenty of fun anyway!
Thanks for taking us along. Hope we did't make to much noise in the back seat.
Good trip home. Tom
I live in Bozeman!!! Damn....would have loved to see the coupe and talk a while...oh well, instead I worked all day All the the streetrods are heading down to West Yellowstone for the 40th Aniversary Yellowstone Rod Run, big show. Have a great trip, are you coming back through Bonneville by chance?
This may be the best post I have ever read on the HAMB. Thanks for sharing!!!
I did a similar solo run years ago (Austin to Spokane and back in 5 days) - great scenery, great trip! We will keep the porch light on and the temperature up for your return to Texas...
wow man great story and great photos...i wish you the best of luck and hope i could have the balls to do something like that one day....
