  3. Packed and ready to jump on the plane in the morning. I do have my camera, Alex, but not sure how much I'll get to use it if I get the good hands on learning I'm hoping for. ;) Looking forward to the weekend...should be a great experience.

I would like to see how/if that top section is braced?
Also, how the cuts were made around/through the "fin" area across the back.
    Thanks for posting.

    \\

a brace across each door and one across back seat area.

I just stopped by to pick up the boy. But cut line went down the side and the just before bumper area dropped straight down all the cut across the back was inside the trunk.

  19. I am sitting in the Phoenix airport on my way home. I will post some more pics and share some more info when I get back this week and get my pics loaded on the computer and resized to load. I even got a pic of it out in the sun this morning when we rolled it out for the first time. What an awesome weekend! I hope my brain can retain all I learned. Cool to see my back in one of Alex's pics above....I'm in the Stray Kat Kustoms shirt. :) For those that already aren't aware, Alex is a machine! He was all over it all weekend. I'm not so certain there aren't actually two or three Alexes to get done all he did.

    Awesome pictures Malcolm!

  21. Dr. Dave.. It was cool to meet you. You were all over that Impala yourself. I have never really watched Alex at work before. Aside from the fact that he is totally high speed / low drag, you can see that his heart is into this stuff and he loves doing what he does. I wish I could have made it back for Sunday. That group of people worked well together and kicked ass.

Looks like an amazing time. To be in Gene's shop working with Gene must have been pretty cool too...

It's good to see the end result. Congratulations to all who took part.
Certainly the experience of a lifetime!

Does anyone know the future plans for this car?

  25. Wow! I picture of me working! Cool!

Absolutely, Alex is certainly one of the new "kings" carrying the torch. I look forward to years of cool stuff coming out of his shop. I have a dream of him painting my 64 Pontiac....if I can ever get it that far along. ;)

Gene has plans to chop it at his class in April. The front and rear ends will have rolled pans of some form or fashion. He intends to fill the engine compartment with a dual quad 348...already has the dual quad set up on his desk.

Here is a pic of it rolled out into the sun for a full view the first time yesterday morning. More pics to come, but this is the first one I have uploaded.
