I stripped one of my bucket seats down to the bare frame today. I plan on blasting the frames down to bare metal. What do you guy's use to paint them? Epoxy? Por 15? should they be primered first? Where can I find the small diameter wire that is used between the seatfoam and springs? Thanks. later shawn

the wire is high tensile steel, so dont use just regular hardware store spooled wire... call a music shop or a piano tuner. piano wire is real good for redoing a seat

i would use cheapo paint.. no need to waste expensive por 15 on something that will never see moisture (or at least to any appreciable amount)

I guess primer would be good.. but I know that the seats in my late model DONT have anything on the frames.. (no paint whatsoever)

the wire is likely spring steel..

replacement seat spring sets are avail for old fords.
