Spotted these SBF Hurst engine mounts,, and would appreciate comments for and against and pictures of any installs by the members.
Don't know about these...but I tried a pair to put the 426 Dodge in my '40. The motor sat really high. Ended up making my own. Would have had to beat the firewall up pretty good. But I am thinking a 302 and C-4 would use up a lot less room.
I made a similar pair for the 5.0 I started with in my '36..those look a bit longer than mine, but I had boxed the frame...I used Thunderbird mounts, not "traditional" mounts on mine. Thing is, if you have the ability to modify the chassis for a 302, then you have the ability (I'd think) to whip up a set of mounts for the engine.
If you use those you should also use a mid mount. Long ways to span from the front of the engine to the rear of the tranny otherwise. I like side mounts better. SPark
this motor is mounted with a set of old hurst mounts mounts in factory motor mount holes had to cut fire wall .5 speed unsplit wish bones stock 40 steering box
got out to the car and took some pictures of the mounts . there is a 40 coupe locally that i have lusted after built in the mid 60's that has a set of these .
