what flywheel and pressure plate do you use when mating a SBC ( 350 in this case as I already own it) to 39 Ford manual trans. The Ford one or the SBC one.
I had this saved for mine, lots of information… https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/early-ford-trans-to-sbc-clutch-fix.1191255/
Thanks..I am using the ford starter so what how many teeth should the flywheel be. What about the pressure plate?? Does it require a certain spline to match the Ford trans.
50 Merc Pressure plate will bolt up to some chevy flywheels. I bought a new one from Jegs. It has the correct bolt holes that will line up with a 50 merc pressure plate. I called Wilcap directly for the pressure plate. 50 Merc clutch disc, 168t flywheel, easy peasy. Found the one I bought https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/601205/10002/-1 Lots of good info on this swap here: http://www.wilcap.com/chevy.html
I run a aluminum Chevy flywheel old Shaffer and ford clutch 10 inch with ford 39 spline count and ford pressure plate that fits your flywheel. Pilot bushing I made but are available at parts store so dont have a part number . So just match your crank hole OD of bushing and ID will be the 39 trans pilot nose or shaft of trans
