If any part of any oil pan hits a model a axle then you really f-ed something up badly.
You got that right!
No It is just getting finished now,it is also a 427 and it is going together with a holley for breaking it in.What cooling system, any heating problems?
I have a belt drive oil pump with a hilborn fuel pump bolted to the back of it..
I did the same thing when I had to pull the intake.
Stewart pump, Steve Long Indy huge by heavy radiator.
Only dyno time since assembled.
Stick or automatic
Would you mind sharing some of that information?
Richmond Super T-10, 2.64 first IIRC.
I will see if I can dig up my notes. The last time I tried was over the winter between 1999 and 2000.
What heads, cam and what did it dyno?
Air Flow Research 210 cnc comp ported heads, Crane hydraulic roller, Isky rev kit, Smith Bros. pushrods, Donovan fixed idler gear drive.
Callies/Wiseco rotating assembly, 10 to 1 c.r.Dan Olson kickout pan, 1&3/4" S&S headers.
McFarland torque link intake and Braswell 750 Holley carb, MSD ignition.
Pretty small numbers from dyno, 450 hp. After trying dyno shops intake manifold and 1.6 rockers, 465 hp.
This engine is a street build for a light car so we weren't trying for big numbers.
Whats it weigh? What rear end and gear,I have a t 10trans ,heads are brodix wild thing
Just a guess, maybe around 2200 lbs. Nine inch Ford housing out of 57 1/2 ton p.u. Strange alum center, Detroit locker, 3.50 gears, Dutchman axles.
My car is a full fender 29 roadster sbc ,turbo 350 ,pont rear weight in at 2340,with the rodeck, cast iron T 10,and winters quick change I expect to drop a few pounds
I showed mine, what's the skinny on your engine.
Old sprint car block,I had it welded up ,8 new sleeves ,no oil pump mount on rear main, hence the belt driven oil pump/fuel pump, Scat 4 inch crank ,roller cam, brodix wildthing heads.I will break it in with a victor intake and holley ,and later running Hilborns. My friend used to build sprintcar motors here in san jose is doing the machine work..I have had life get in the way so back at it.I have a cast iron T-10 and will be putting a winter quickchange. Anything else I can answer for you.
Just cut a hole for the dist. and add an early heater box on the inside to cover the hole, you can open the heater door and adjust the timing while you drive.
Is your block one of the lightweight sprint car blocks or a drysump version of the standard 350 plus block?
When all done, let us know the outcome, I'm jones'n to get mine on the road too but as you said; life seems to get in the way.
I will keep in touch ,it is a 350 /400 block, what flywheel are you running?
Hays #10-130, Centerforce clutch.
this i like
No hei ,MSD small cap.
Look at the early 60's Chris craft 283. They were mounted backwards in the boat (flywheel forward) and had the distributor off the cam and a block off in the stock dizzy hole. The dummy dizzy drove the oil pump and also had a tach drive on it. It's reasonably priced parts.

An engine builder buddy of mine just so happens to have a pair of 283's he says are from a Chris craft that he sent me a picture of.
It is too long to get out of the block.

Accel (older ones) distributor has a removable top . Usually on ebay etc......good unit .......
