SBC Compression question...

    Just a quick question and I'm sure I'll get a quick answer, 350 SBC dish piston std bore, 8-1 comp ratio. how many lbs compression should I expect to see ? Gonna do a compression check this afternoon.

    100# , 120# ........... as long as they are all within like 5#-10# of each other , the total doesnt really matter .................... steve

    Yup. Total depends on more info. Cam and where it is installed defining effect on it.

    8.5:1's-9:1 is around 130-140 psi....

    Thanks a bunch guys, Old engine showed from lowest 128 to highest 138..
    I havent got a leak-down gauge, Its got a little flutter out the exhaust on one side, I 'm thinkin maybe a burnt valve...
