If it has an R in the vin it could have my finger prints on it. Worked in the local factory that year.
If I remember correctly, the 65 and 66 impala shared the same frame in case you have rot. I have seen clean ones with rusted floors though. The old car doesn't look too bad all in all. I like the floor shift option.
Its a twin to one of mine, same year, same color with the same rusty trunk and floors. Mine has a lot of rust at windshield and rear window which explains the rusty floors. A fine looking car, I had a new '66 (in 1966) which made me buy mine when I found it cheap. Good Luck with it.
Great looking car. You can pickup a full floor for those cars with the braces and inner rockers for around a grand and you're back in business. Here's a neat youtube link to one of the very rare L-78 396/375 Impala's built in 65.
