I just had 2 tires mounted and balanced.
I go to put my trim rings on and the new weights are to big.
May also have trouble with hub caps.
Now i have to go to small shop that saves the old lead weights,
    and have them balance again.

  2. Why not use the stick on weights that go in the inside of the rim like you use on a mag type wheel?

I am not sure that I understand what you are saying?

Saw it coming when they started outlawing lead fishing weights.
Been collecting them from a local tire shop for a couple of years. Lately only 1/2 of them are lead, the rest are zinc and much bulkier.
    They're coming for us!

He can't get the trim rings back on.

I had the same issue with mine but the shop I was at caught it and they moved the weights to the inside of the wheels.

  7. i don't think it's a conspiracy against lead weights.
i think they just used the wrong weight for the rim type, or some other issue.
we have plenty of lead oz. wheel weights at work, don't worry.
and yes, have them balance it statically, weight on just the inside.

I get rid of all my lead weights by sending them down range very quickly in 158 to 245 grain packages. I cast them into bullets.

Static balance still takes weights. Unless you are calling stickon weights static balance.

Illinois outlawed lead weights, but still legal in Indiana.

    Wow. Just learned something new.

  16. True, but static won't interfere with hubcaps or trim rings.

  17. Use Dyna Beads and not worry about weights on the rim. Better balance and no problems with trim ring or wheel cover fit.
