Jersey sand would be quite a distance from the Black hills of South Dakota. Quite possibly the Hot Rod hill climb though!

I'm going to make this one street legal, biggest part will be the head lights. I have some really kool small red jewels for tail/brake lights.

I was thinking a single taillight might fit the bottom spot of the tail section with purpose.

That would be a kool idea but the frame will be stepped in the back so the little area at the bottom will be cut off.

Did a bit to the single seater, I welded the head light pod to the tail section and rolled a ring to cap the end. IMG_2242.JPG IMG_2243.JPG I know I'm doing this all wrong and backwards but this car is not going to be pristine by any means. I guess I'll be happy with bumps and wiggles it is representing a sprint car that would have been built in the 40's. Doesnt have to be purty just get it done and make it to the track.

I also scored a complete 40 Ford front and rear end. Now just source a motor and trans.

This is the right attitude! I made cosmetic compromises in my build as well, and each was a conscious decision. There is amazing work to be seen on the Hamb, but if you get overly caught up in perfection, it can lead to paralysis. It's your build, man, and you should be proud of it.

Been kicking around ideas for the grill shell. This summer I went to our local Steam and gas threshing bee and found a Kool tractor gas tank for cheap. So little did I realize my gas tank was really my grill shell. Today I threw the tank up on the table to see what it would look like. If you squint and imagine about a foot off the bottom and the under side of the tank cut off theres a Kool track nose there. IMG_2300.JPG

Stogy, thats the Shit right there. I do want to build the hood a bit shorter. Going on the same lines as onekoolkats one seater. Your rendering looks more drylake and I'm shooting for late 40's sprint car.

I have also stuck a name on the car. It is going to be called the Id-L-do Special. Im going to attempt to do most of the work myself without the help of my buddys, so if I mess something up and its close enought to pass muster IT WILL DO!
