I seem to remember Norman Rockwell took photos of all his subjects, then rendered his fantastic drawings based on his photos.

  9. Norman Rockwell signed all his paintings.

Stevan Dohanos was the artist who painted this cover. HRP

I looked up the Saturday Evening Post, May 3, 1950 and immediately found all the covers that have been shown here. How do you go about making a link to post them? I see stuff all the time I'd like to share and just can't seem to get it done. Help.

Hotrodprimer, I collect WW II propaganda posters and Steve Dohanos was known for drawing several "Careless Talk" posters. He was also noted for several other Saturday Evening Post covers. Great artist!

Didn’t know Duke Hallock windshield frames were that early...

The Post cover in the original post is a re-creation by someone - it isn't real ...

  17. Based on the price on the cover, I believe you are correct. In the 1949 and earlier 1950 covers posted it was 15 cents not 5.

Nice thread Jim @48fordnut I love the roadster you posted, it has some great details when looking it over.

Like @302GMC stated, the cover is a re-creation. The original issue was released August 5th and had different cover art.

@carcruse brought some nice additions to the collection, great stuff.
