Sanding Louvers...Advice, tricks...help?

Absolutely! Don't ever deal with a louver guy that doesn't require clean metal to begin with. Not only is it a major pain in the ass to sand after the fact, but also any layer of paint can cause the dies to "slip" away from each other and leave a dull ragedy edge on the vents... Even more fun to sand!

 

I have heard similar , but it was after she had to paint several dozen tires raised white letters for a car show appearance. She says put the letters in board or paint the fucking things yourself

 

Try aircraft paint stripper, the stuff is killer!! I used it on my 55 and it took all the paint off in a matter of minutes. My 55 had 5 layers of paint too. But sanding each louver sounds like more fun.

 

Air die grinder and small wire brush.Been there and done that !!!!

 

You aren't kidding. The buffing part really sucks.
